6-12th graders meet on Sundays from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Stafford Crossing
Afterlife
It can be easy to forget who God really is. And it can be even easier for your teens to forget who they really are, too! We get the chance to remind them not only who He really is, but who we really are because of Him. Loved, important, forgiven—Jesus’ death and resurrection shows us we’re all that and more to Him.
Counterfeit vs. Authentic
From off-brand cereals to knock-off luxury items, we know that anything of value probably has a counterfeit version floating around out there. The same is true for our faith. Maybe copying the behaviors of other believers was a great place to start your faith journey (we all start somewhere), but how can we move beyond copying Christians to actually following Jesus? How do we make our faith our own? The difference between a counterfeit faith and an authentic faith is growth and heart change. And we’ll discover that God can use just about anything to help us grow a faith of our own.
Even If…
For better or worse change shows up in our lives and tests what we’re made of. There’s good change like getting the date or making the team, bad change like divorce or medical diagnosis, and complicated change like switching schools or choosing a healthy break-up. Change brings so many emotions which makes us ask all kinds of questions. Am I strong enough to face this? Is it even worth it to go through this? Can I/should I handle this alone? In this series, students will be challenged to rethink how they view change and we’ll explore how God’s commitment to us doesn’t change, even if everything else does.
Habits
People talk about “loving God” all the time, but there’s one problem that nobody seems to mention: you can’t see Him. Weird, right? How do you connect to someone who never seems to audibly respond? In this series, we’ll be talking about the faith habits that make it possible to connect with an invisible God. And while there’s no formula for knowing everything about God, there are key habits that will change the way we see Him at work all around you.
Helping Teens Manage Emotions
Teen emotions can be intense. Help your teen find ways to recognize and navigate those strong emotions.
The start of better things…
This season is filled with words that seem to be a little more special this time of year. Hope, Peace, Joy and Love appear everywhere as we countdown to the birth of a savior—a savior who promises that even in this imperfect world we can experience and embody hope, peace, joy, and love; even here and now in the chaos of life.
More to the Story
When it comes to things like sex and dating, your students probably think they know the whole story. But somewhere in the messages they’re getting from their friends, their significant others, the media they consume, and even at church, the real story on sex and dating has gotten lost. In this series, we’ll help students see that there’s so much more to the story than they even realize. And in fact, when it comes to sex and dating, God wants more for their story than they know!
