Every day life can stir up a lot of emotions in both adults and children. Couple that with stressful events and seasons that seem to hit us out of nowhere, and we can find ourselves facing very big emotions. Among those emotions are fear, worry, irritability, stress, anxiety, loneliness, frustration, anger, panic, disappointment, and on, and on, and on.
One of the best ways we can serve our children (and ourselves) in an overwhelming or frightening time, is by learning to IDENTIFY emotions and POUR our hearts out to God.
Download the worksheet, and listen to the following video for some great ideas on how help children identify and express their emotions to God. Then, lead your children through some of the activities. You can spread them out over the course of a few days; don’t feel like you have to rush through helping your children learn to process their emotions. This may also be something that you’ll come back to again and again as different emotions surface and resurface.
